There are numerous covers of Bob Dylan's, "Knocking On Heaven's Door." It's not particularly my favorite song of all time or anything but it still holds a place in history. There are three notable singers/bands who've sung the song:

Bob Dylan (who wrote it)
Eric Clapton
Guns & Roses

I've never really been much of a Bob Dylan fan (although he was a great lyricist) but I prefer his version of this song over the others. I'm a huge fan of Eric Clapton and a pretty big fan of Guns & Roses, but they take a back seat to Dylan in this case (IMO).

A Reggae-ish version. It does lend itself to being redone as a Reggae song. This is more Reggae-Lite.

Sort of a country version?

Even Warren Zevon had a version.

I like both the Dylan version and the Clapton cover, with the Dylan recording being a favorite if I had to choose. I thought the movie sucked, though.

Great thread !

I voted for G&R version.

It just feels better to me. I like the way the refrain is done.

I think each version could be appealing.

They all do it quite well.

There was another song Dylan was writing during this period buy never finished. It was lifted from a bootleg and finished by Old Crow Medicine Show. "Wagon Wheel".
