Kentucky just passed a bill to protect the practice of conversion therapy. Thoughts USMB?

Kentucky lawmakers passed a measure Friday seeking to protect the controversial practice known as conversion therapy for LGBTQ youth, repealing an executive order from Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear (Ky.) that restricted the practice.

The state Legislature has a GOP majority in the House and Senate, which succeeded in passing the bill, which also prevents people from using Medicaid to support gender-affirming health care for transgender residents, according to The Associated Press. The Department of Veterans Affairs is also imposing a similar ban to comply with President Trump's executive order declaring the United States would only recognize two sexes. The idea that there are only two genders often is taught in conversion therapy to promote heterosexual behaviors.

GOP lawmakers, including state Rep. David Hale, argued families should have the freedom to select the mental health care of their choice, adding the bill would protect institutions and ordained ministries from discrimination when providing counseling services, according to AP.

Kentucky sucks as a place for people to enjoy liberty and freedom.

So the second someone in therapy says they are questioning their sexuality, the therapist must automatically say "you are gay"?

Way too much of a fan of boobs, actual boobs, for that.

The only penis I am a fan of is my own.
Then someone who likes to play with wieners needs no conversion therapy to be straight, just as yerself needs no conversion therapy to be gay. see how that works...?

Your statement and the article do not mesh.

The problem with laws like this is they can be used as I described them. "Conversion Therapy" is a scare term that has no meaning, but is suddenly the crux of a law that tells therapists how they can deal with their patients.
