After two trials and some seriously amateurish attempts at framing her, preposterous evidence presented by the prosecution, and serious kangaroo court judge rulings during the trials, Karen Read is acquitted.

Still had to eat the DUI.

Though the woman is far from a saint, the prosecution didn't prove that she is a murderer in either trial.

Marxataxachusetts might possibly have the most corrupt "justice" system in the entire nation.

Read was charged with second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a collision resulting in January 2022 death of John O'Keefe. She had pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors said she backed into him with her SUV after a night out drinking and left him to die in the snow. Her defense argues that the whole case is a frame job and shoddy investigation by police officers.

Not referring to you OP but I saw something about that yesterday and thought....Why is this "news" I should be concerned about? :dunno:
I've followed it because it has been one of the most egregious abuses of prosecutorial power I can ever recall.

They really never had a case and just went after Read because a dead cop was involved, and they thought they needed a scalp for it....Then when the first jury hung, they tried her again.

I saw the documentary, this was a F’d up case. Glad the jury got it right

Hard to find details on this case.

Was there any evidence her car struck her boyfriend?

They just found him dead with blunt force trauma and hypothermia as cause of death.

There was anti-evidence....The guy had no broken bones or any other trauma indicative of being struck by a car...Witnesses for the prosecution with a ton of deleted texts on the matter and other blatant jiggery-pokery.

Unfortunately, the only place I can find good detailed accounts of what wen on is a blog that requires subscription - Turtleboy.

I think the jury wanted to put it to rest, considering another hung jury would have allowed the prosecution to retry and retry until they got the result they wanted. Not guilty ends it for her.
Good job jury.
