According to the owner in San Francisco its because of customers not payingYou cater to a lower class of clientele; you accept a certain level of risk.
But again, I suspect they are going out of business because their food sucks and the chain is in a well-deserved decline.
Or as one Comedian Put it "You ever notice no one ever goes to Denny's, they just end up there. Complaining the food isn't good is like going to a whorehouse and saying you didn't feel loved."

Your point is?Does understanding the first thing about biz include an intimate knowledge of bankruptcy laws?
Denny's has been in decline for years, mostly because their food sucks.

Denny’s is still shrinking
The chain's system has contracted 9% since 2017, and may shrink again in 2024 as the company forecasts comparable sales growth between 0% and 3%.www.restaurantdive.com
A better criticism came from this guy.
- Denny’s closed 57 units in 2023, for a net decrease of 29 units, according to the chain’s most recent earnings release.
- It now takes $1.2 million in annual sales for a Denny’s unit to be profitable enough to sustain itself, up from $1 million, Denny’s Chief Financial Officer Robert Verostek said on the chain’s earnings call last week.
- In response to an analyst’s question, Verostek said that the average sales of the lowest quintile of stores outpaced the $1.2 million annual target, meaning that a low percentage of Denny’s units are below the break point for closures. According to the chain’s earnings release, Denny’s anticipates net unit closures of 10 to 20 units in 2024, which would slow the rate of closure relative to 2023.
Denny's is the place where you show up after a night of drinking. Nobody goes there for the food.
A blur.I wonder what the dine and dash folks look like?
Didn't you understand the question?Your point is?
I need you to elaborate…Didn't you understand the question?
You cater to a lower class of clientele; you accept a certain level of risk.

The Repub party has a love affair with the convicted criminal known as Individual 1 in the Cohen indictment. Harris has an established record as AG of CA proving she is not soft on crime.
Nope, not really in this context. The point is, the Denny's brand is toxic, associated with lowlifes and a bad history of racism. It does matter…unless of course you’re an idiot that doesn’t understand the first thing about business.
Kamala turns everything into a SHITHOLE!If the black thieves had their way they would have been.
Can you explain what’s racist about Denny’s? Is breakfast food racist? Was it the eggs or the syrup?
I’m trying to figure out the Denny’s racism here. Was it the lack of fried chicken and waffles? Watermelon wasn’t free? The purple dank wasn’t available? Was there a lack of white people serving you? What made Denny’s racist?
That sounds like you’re mad that 57 stores is but a minor dent in a nationwide chain…But, then again losers like yourself will never experience the magnitude that the original owner, or any of the corporate mgmt would…Nope, not really in this context. In just California? For a chain that did fine for five decades. If the food sucked so bad why were people going there to eat and running without paying the tab? It probably wasn’t the food but the democrat policies making it an issue. That's 57 in one year, guy.
60 in the previous year.
Because their food sucks.

No longer a food quality issue SF needs to worry about. Just another business gone. Clothing, home supplies, places to eat. Their choices are getting pretty slim these days. At some point they’re going to have to ask themselves why. All of those stores couldn’t have just sucked.
You seem to have a personal issue with Denny’s, maybe you didn’t get your Moon Over Myhammie in time or something. Which is your problem.Denny's still sucks, and they are going out of business all over the country. No one will miss them.
As of January 2024, San Francisco registers nearly 200 new businesses every week. In 2022, the San Francisco metro area saw just over 57,000 new business applications, which is about 13 applications per 1,000 residents. This is a 9% decrease from 2021, when the area saw almost 14 applications per 1,000 residents.
San Francisco is a global center for economic activity and the arts and sciences, with many sectors contributing to its success, including:
high-tech, healthcare, finance, insurance, real estate, professional services, and leading universities.
San Francisco is also a major international center for trade, with more than 71 consulates and foreign trade offices located in the city. It is the largest U.S. exporting region to Asia and the tenth largest exporting region in the country.

You forgot one of the fastest growing industries in SF is homelessness, drug addiction and shitting in the streets.
Real estate and services are the next big failure to come. You can’t fill retail spaces when the ones that left did so due to theft. Those will remain empty and lose value as the homeless move in. The local economy is dying, the city is dying. Those not affected by the local economy will still have their places. The average SF citizen is not.
When the bar or strip club closed Denny’s was a damn fine place to go back in the day. I’m pretty sure nobody at noon thought they were going somewhere classy either. Not everyone needs a five star eatery every meal. But those low life’s will certainly be the first to miss it and wish they hadn’t stole from them until they closed. You seem a little too snotty for that so maybe it wasn’t meant for you. I suppose since it was below your standards fuck everyone else. They shouldn’t get to go there either. That’s the democrat way. Step up to my standards or fuck off and starve you pee on.I don't like shitty food? I like it even less when the people who serve shitty food and cater to lowlifes complain when they can't make money off drunks at 4 AM.
I wasn't aware homeless had an LLC. SF has a "homeless" problem because they have a lack of affordable housing, like much of the rest of the country.
You guys have been hating on SF for years... just like you hated on Chicago when Obama came from there. Chicago is fine. SF is fine.
Denny's still sucks, and they are going out of business all over the country. No one will miss them.
