Not a good idea.

What, it doesn't help those that don't qualify as "first time" buyers.

For example we bought our first home expecting to stay long term. Then I changed jobs, had to move, sold the previous house after 3 years and move making a second purchase after renting a year.

Ideas need to be about bringing market costs down, not funding a selective portion of the market.

First time home buyers are most likely young democrats just getting out of college starting out. Just another vote-grabbing vehicle to steal elections by the democraps. It ignores all the people who have worked hard all their life being productive who are maybe buying their 2nd or 3rd home.

THE REAL SOLUTION is for government to stop devaluing the dollar. Then the dollar would be worth more, prices would come down, stuff would be cheaper, and everyone could afford to buy a home without some democrat saying: "Look what I did for you, now vote for me to get more handouts!"
