David Daleiden celebrated the end of the "weaponized political prosecution" begun by former Vice President Kamala Harris over his efforts to obtain and release undercover videos about Planned Parenthood.

Daleiden and his collaborator posed as a biomedical research company in order to secretly videotape Planned Parenthood executives talking about the sale of body parts from abortion procedures. The videos were released in 2015 and made national headlines but began a legal struggle over the First Amendment free speech rights of undercover investigators.

Harris, who was the attorney general of California at the time, led the legal effort to prosecute Daleiden in order to punish his pro-life advocacy, according to many critics. Several animal rights and free speech groups backed Daleiden's defense on the basis that it would encroach on the free speech rights of all activist groups.

Daleiden celebrated in a statement on social media on Monday.

"After enduring 9 years of weaponized political prosecution, putting an end to the lawfare launched by Kamala Harris is a huge victory for my investigative reporting and for the public's right to know the truth about Planned Parenthood's sale of aborted baby body parts," wrote Daleiden.

He went on to say that he agreed to enter a new plea of "no contest" on one charge in exchange for the State of California dismissing the rest of the active charges against him. The plea is not an admission of wrongdoing and excludes any fines or probation. Additionally, the plea will be entered into judgment as a misdemeanor and later converted to a "not guilty" plea before being dismissed.

The State of California had charged Daleiden with 15 felonies related to the videos in 2017, and in 2019 Daleiden was ordered to pay Planned Parenthood millions in damages, although the organization had sought far more.

"Now we all must get to work to protect families and infants from the criminal abortion-industrial complex," Daleiden concluded. "Taking the San Francisco case off the board allows me to focus fully on CMP's mission to report on the injustices of taxpayer-funded experiments on aborted babies and continue to expand our groundbreaking investigative reporting."

It just blows my mind that you can get people to admit this sort of criminal activity on tape, and when you get it your are the one charged with breaking the law as you are charged with myriads of felonies.

I don't know about her "blackness", and not a Californian, nor really paying attention to California politics (as fairly unimportant to me) how she rose through the offices she did win competitively. I think she was picked for strictly political purpose, supposed able to deliver the "Black vote", and my any measure, she did, but was not ready or even passable for the job of support for the first year of the Biden administration. She is a living breathing example of the "Peter Principle", rising to her highest level of success and operation in key function, but then to progress no further, due to lack of competence for higher level. That said, it is possible the misguided could (as you suggest) wish to re-groom her for attempt, though it is a mistake. I have no idea, who they should be grooming for the run 4 years from now, but it should not be her.

If she does come back for another helping, you can be sure, there will be a comprehensive plan, to be put in place from day 1 if successful, based on the experience of her time in the Biden Administration, and her own 3 month failing campaign. This would make her more dangerous, not better for the job, as the Biden Admin (most will agree) largely run by unknown insiders, insuring decent foreign and economic policy to avoid major fkups, other than the Open Border BS (the soul of their plan, such as it was) but overall seeing good expanding, GDP, economy growth, stock market progression and decent foreign policy, without us ever knowing who was in charger or realizing it was not Biden (at least for the last year or two). Describing her as ultra-liberal is fairly correct. It is California, so what do you expect? She comes from that background of California doing anything it likes and taxing the hell out of Californians. He idea of economics is the same. Lot of different theories in economics, and socialism is one of them. You and I prefer Capitalism, though in truth we know a certain amount of socialism as been in play for at least 150 years. We just heed the warnings against "creeping socialism", as it does creep, but we need to avoid galloping.

I am not so sure, we might not wish the pendulum would cease to swing further to the right, by the time this 4 years is over. Surely that dumbass party, can come up with a moderate to face your dumbass party, in 4 years, to give the voters a fair choice, whether your dumbass party is still in love with Vance at that point or not. November 2028 is a long way away.

I did quite well under the Obama administration, enabling me to put my retirement back together, after almost destroy by the SonovaBush crash, so I cannot kick. But, Obama did not have Joe's Open Border policy and in fact deported and refused entry to more than SonovaBush, so it did not come from him. Did he have a high degree of influence on Joe regarding, day to day stuff, foreign policy, infrastructure, etc? Yes, I think so. Pulling the strings? I don't know.
