Movin' on 'em.

The Governor there thinks he is some potentate who determines immigration laws. Why are Democrtas so in love with illegal aliens?

The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against Illinois and the city of Chicago, challenging state and local laws that allegedly interfere with federal immigration enforcement. This marks the first lawsuit of its kind under President Donald Trump's administration, which has vowed to crack down on sanctuary cities. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, targets Illinois' TRUST Act, a Cook County ordinance, and Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance. These laws generally prevent local officials from participating in immigration enforcement and limit information sharing with federal authorities.

The Justice Department argues that these laws violate the Constitution’s supremacy clause, which states that federal law takes precedence over conflicting state laws. The lawsuit claims that these policies make it difficult for federal immigration officers to perform their duties and could jeopardize public safety. Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove warned that local officials could face legal action if they undermine federal immigration laws.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker defended the state's laws, stating that they comply with federal law and prioritize police resources for fighting crime. Pritzker emphasized the state's commitment to protecting law-abiding residents, regardless of their immigration status. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who has reaffirmed the city's sanctuary status, has not yet commented on the lawsuit.

America fought a war to see who has the juice and the FEDs one.

But why sue Chicago just take all the illegals and dump there and give them a court date to see if they should be deported.

Once they get a judge to rule that the federal immigration laws supersede state & local immigration laws...the stage will be set for arresting gov't officials.

All nice and tidy like...all legal with all the i's dotted and T's crossed

And Trump violates laws.

They want them flooding in, because they know the vast majority will end up being Dimocrats who will forever vote to expand the federal government, and government bodies all across this nation.

Absolutely positively guarantee you, if the vast majority would end up voting for the GOP, the left in this country would have worked to tightly secure our borders decades ago.

What I wonder is why is he not there now ?
That's true. And when you think about it, if all the criminal politicians were prosecuted like they should be, there would be no more need for term limits, but there would be a big shortage of jail cells.

I don't understand why this creep hasn't been arrested already. He clearly has violated US law (US Code 8 Section 1324), and the proof is unmistakeable.

On January 24, 2019, Pritzker signed an executive order expanding access to Illinois welcome centers for immigrants and refugees. There it is.

Beware of letting this louse weasel his way through the courts. He is a multi-billionaire, and one could easily see him bribing judges with millions of $$$. He is not adverse to throwing his money around.

In 1998, Pritzker was a primary candidate for US House of Representitives, and in one of the most expensive congressional primaries in U.S. history, Pritzker spent nearly $1 million of his own money on his campaign[33] (including $500,000 on television ads in the Chicago market).

Why do this court thing, giving him the opportunity to bribe his way out of it ? Just arrest him.

I think the reason why they're not arresting & jailing sanctuary governors, mayors, city councilmen, etc, is because if they did, that would trigger an extreme shielding of illegal aliens, and lessen the deportation process.

Maybe they're waiting for as many illegals as they can catch to be gotten rid of, and then they'll go after the big guys.

Sanctuary politicians seem to have an overblown notion of their own importance. If they think they have some high ground in all this, I suspect they are going to be contemplating that from a federal prison cell for many years. In Georgia, New York, et al places they may even find themselves on death row,
