Just leaving this right here...

I was a dead eye at 300 meters with an M-14. Much steadier than an M-16.

As a Marine recruit in 1960 I was expected to qualify with the M-1 Garand rifle. The fact that I was left handed and my dominant eye was left made no difference to the Marine D.I.'s on Parris Island. The Marine way was right handed. They offered me an eye patch to cover my dominant eye but I declined. Imagine a five hundred yard line with iron sights wrong eyed but somehow I managed to qualify with a 213 sharpshooter. I still remember.
