The Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 32.7 points on 51.9% shooting to win the league's scoring title, has earned his first NBA MVP, sources told ESPN.

Not sure what the numbers say when you ignore everything else, but I'm a believer that MVP should go to a successful team, and Denver was merely OK this year. Jokic and his supporters have no real complaint here.

The winner NEEDS to adopt a nickname. Call him, "SGA" or something. It would take me a year of effort for that name to roll off my tongue.

OKC cleaned their clocks, but I wonder if "face guarding" will be allowed next season.
