I just wondered - How many Jews can trace their family history back to Israel, pre 1945?

I don't mean, "Jews were there", I mean actual family trees.

The fact that a person is Jewish is a state of being, not a designation landlocked by a geographical location.

Looks like this is a thread was created to start an argument or conflict of some type....:doubt:

Not at all.
I just want to know how many Jews can trace their family tree back to pre '45 Israel, or the area Israel now covers.

It's a perfectly reasonable question.

According to the estimates I read, Jews were about 2% of the population of Palestine pre WWI, and about 10% of the population of Jerusalem.

These estimates are, as you no doubt would expect, highly controversial.

Some Zionists scholars suggest that the pre WWI percentage of Jews were as high as 10% nationwide.

I doubt there are solid statistics to prove either case.

Actually dufus, Jews were majority population in Jerusalem in the 1800's, before the Arab hoards invaded. Now tell us how many of you can trace your roots to Mecca.

Jews don't need to justify why they are in the region.
Israel belongs to them, weather or weather not their ancestors lived in the region.

All those that test positive for the Cohen gene in their DNA, which at the last count was at least 80% of those tested.

Now how many arab muslims can trace their family history back to Palestine pre 1945 ?

Just as asking if the arab muslims claiming Palestinian citizenship can prove their family link to Palestine going back more than 2 generations.

Actually during the Ottoman rule the majority of inhabitants of Palestine were Jews as the arab muslims found life too hard for them there. Even when the Ottomans shipped in arab muslims to live on the land they soon removed themselves back to their original homes.

Actually, this time I think it's a reasonable question.

To answer with a reasonable one- Do you know Freddi, how many Jews which rooted in Israel pre-1945 brought their relatives over, and they came after 1945?

That should also count.

Me, my family was here since 1883:D

FTW, assholes!:D:D:lol:

The Jews were small minority in Jerusalem before the Zionist invasion. It wasn't until the late 1800s (1896) that with this great influx of Europeans (Jews) did the Jews begin to outnumber the native Muslims and Christians of Jerusalem.

This is from the Jewish Virtual Library site so the numbers of Jews are probably inflated for propaganda purposes.

Israel does not belong to Jews, it doesn't matter what the weather is. I don't know why you think the weather has anything to do with it.

Just goes to show what uneducated, ignorant thugs the supporters of Israel are.
