Interesting.... This may end up being very anti-immigrant. Japan is notorious already for this as is China and other Asian nations.

My friends son works in Japan as an English teacher and I promised to go with her in September to visit him... I like Japan or at least the areas I have been to... the people are very friendly and love to party with Americans...
But make sure you book 1st class seats... its a long way to Tokyo...

The Japanese MAGA party is against the acceptance of too many foreigners. Its slogan is 'Japanese First' inspired by Trump's America First, which resonated with Japanese voters who do not like too many foreign workers imported to the country in recent years. After gaining 14 seats in the parliament, it emerged as one of the main opposition parties.

"The phrase Japanese First was meant to express rebuilding Japanese people's livelihoods by resisting globalism. I am not saying that we should completely ban foreigners or that every foreigner should get out of Japan," Sohei Kamiya, the party's 47-year-old leader, said in an interview with local broadcaster Nippon Television after the election.

Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner Komeito lost their majority in the upper house, leaving them further beholden to opposition support following a lower house defeat in October.

"Sanseito has become the talk of the town, and particularly here in America, because of the whole populist and anti-foreign sentiment. It's more of a weakness of the LDP and Ishiba than anything else," said Joshua Walker, head of the U.S. non-profit Japan Society.

Here's a great explainer video.

Apparently the dude started this political party on YouTube!

The "Japan First" party pulls out a win! A step in the right direction.

On the contrary, Japan has been increasing immigration over the past few decades.
This is why the young voted for this anti-immigration party even though there is FAR less immigration there than any other modern, capitalist nation.

Even a little bit of immigration upsets the youth there as they are blaming inflation and lack of work on them.

Who told you that?
My sources. I watch NHK and numerous media outlets in Europe to decipher between the narrative and the truth. It appears the reigning liberal government lost the young to anti-immigration ideals and even the center-left didn't gain any seats.

Furthermore, the guy running openly talked about promoting "real and true Japanese"

That doesn't equate to "anti-immigrant." There isn't enough immigration for that to be a big issue. The bigger issue is population decline. The biggest "immigration" issue has to do with tourists acting like animals while visiting. Actual immigration is temporary and requires jumping through many hoops.

Yes, many immigrants do act like animals, especially by Japanese standards. It's a messed up world and Japan is going to have to find a happy medium.

All of the West has a birth rate issue because we have allowed the cost of housing everywhere to require women to work also instead of traditional roles of raising children. One income does not suffice anymore. Of course, this is in addition to women wanting to be productive in a capitalist society as well, so it's complicated.

Ultimately China is going to win anyways it's just a matter of time. Japan will face the same issues everyone else will and China doesn't forget the atrocities of WWII any more than they forget the 100 years of shame or the Opium Wars.

Just the facts Jack. It is going to take real Western leadership and the elimination of corruption to ensure Western civilization and liberty survives. I'm not bullish on this long term. Police States will become the norm. Canada is decades ahead in this regard...
