Nope, it's about the persecution of political opponents and the chilling of speech. Everyone saw the video, naturally there was different interpretations and opinions of it. Expressing an opinion on a public event isn't defamation, it's political speech and protected by the first amendment. If it's not, criticizing anyone involved in the election process would open everyone to to the same liability. Those women were public employees, and as such are open to having their actions judged by everyone.
