I really did think it was me. Especially frustrating with my new (6 months old) desktop running Win8.1. I thought the old, slow days were done – even with 4 different browsers. So, while it doesn't solve the problem, this article at least explains it.

This seems to fit right into the previous piece about slow computer speeds.


Tim Karr of Free Press, one of the groups that makes up BattlefortheNet, said the finding show ISPs are not providing content to users at the speeds they’re paying for.


Is this the rationale for Net Neutrality? In any case, while this explains a lot of things, does it really make the government responsible for the internet a good thing? The FCC oversees the airwaves – so why, when I travel to San Diego, do I continually find dead spots and bleed overs? Shouldn't the FCC stop that?


The point is – we all know how inefficient and overbearing most government agencies are. So letting another oversee the internet is a good idea?
