It's about time a Dem gave an impassioned speech like this.

As much as I appreciate Newsome's snarky parody of trump this is the kind of pitch perfect speech we need to meet the moment. Hopefully, the board's Repubs will watch enough to hear the governor expose the fallacy that what is happening in DC is about crime.

Question to him should be. Is there an uncontrolled crime problem or not? If there is shouldn't federal government step in to do the job you can't?

In DC or any other city, what Trump seeks to do has nothing to do with ‘crime.’

It has to do with lawless intimidation and un-Constitutional authoritarianism.

He should indict Trump for fudging on his Trump Tower loans there.

Such an impassioned speech is necessary in opposition to the fascist Trump.
I continue to resist to use the F word when discussing trump but I'm getting more comfortable with it with each passing day.

Listen to the speech.

Allow me to translate for the hearing-impaired.

He has drawn the line with his speech lets see the Executive Branches rebuttal. It was a fine speech and I am glad to see a Democrat taking a clear stand, let the debate in court and ,media and the street begin. This is how our system is supposed to be.

Chicago has a real crime problem. Why don't Chubs and the lousy mayor address it

Exactly. If Pritzker would just eliminate the crime problem in Chicago as well as other metropoli in Illinois like the Great City of East St. Louis, there would be no need to deploy the NG and the Army to resolve it.

I can tell you didn't listen to the whole speech. You really should.

What is there to debate about? The law is very clear on what trump has proposed. It's illegal.

What are you so upset about?
I'm not upset. I'm relieved that crime is down in Chicago, thanks due to the Bans that keep criminals from having large mags, bump-stocks and military assault weapons. . . It's been so obvious that the bans have been working. It's a good thing those law-abiding criminals are respecting those bans, though. Imagine if they didn't.

It would be like running out of Chicken Tenders up there.

The news scroll at the bottom of the screen during his speech was reporting violent crimes. Sort of a bad moment .
But he has ''drawn the line in the sand and thrown down the gauntlet in the face of Federal Tyranny''. States rights debate again maybe dividing the country. Lets hope the debate stays peacful.
