Based on the comments online the opinion seems to resonate that "we are becoming like America and we don't want that".

That is frightening as America was the ideal back in the 80s. Every European nation desired to be free with a strong middle class as the U.S had.

What people don't understand is that all of this ideology comes from urban centres of influence which China influences and bribes. Whenever there is money involved, people look for any means to promote and milk a policy even if it hurts others. This is the same with climate change.
