Justice Thomas raised crucial question about legitimacy of special counsel's prosecution of Trump
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas raised a question Thursday that goes to the heart of Special Counsel Jack Smith's charges against former President Donald Trump.
Kudos to Justice Thomas. He read the Meese amicus brief it appears.

This is very significant stuff (to the extent the SCOTUS bothers to actually address it, that is). It is brilliant and simultaneously fairly basic analysis.
If (as Meese maintains and I agree) the “appointment “ of special persecutor Smith is invalid for fundamental reasons of Constitutional law, then the Federal cases against Trump have to get tossed out.
