The racist history of the Democratic party is well documented. The Democratic Party was founded in 1828. Slavery had been in this country since at least 1619. Slavery existed for 209 years before the democratic party existed. Republicans today love telling blacks how the Democratic Party was pro-slavery and how it was the Republican Party that freed the slaves. There is a lot modern republicans choose not to tell young blacks as they try luring blacks into supporting a move back into Jim Crow. First, not all Republicans were for racial equality. The Party had several factions in the beginning. One was the Radical Republicans. The Radical Republicans were for the eradication of slavery. They were not conservatives. Frederick Douglass was a Radical Republican. Lincoln was moderate politically. He opposed the expansion of slavery but did not believe in racial equality.
“I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black ... I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will for ever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be a position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”
Those who have studied Lincoln claim that his views evolved. Did they? The Second Confiscation Act in 1862 had provisions for the colonization of blacks who chose to leave. Both Dr. Henry Louis Gates and the 1619 Project have written about a meeting between blacks and Lincoln whereby he made insulting comments to them, blamed blacks for the Civil War, and demanded they accept his plan to resettle blacks outside of America. According to both sources, on Aug. 14, 1862, Lincoln met with black representatives at the White House to try getting blacks to accept getting shipped out of the country. They refused.

Coercion?Being civil minded here...............
We can only know what was written during the times of the things that happened.
Whether they are true or not.
Yes, history is written by the "winners" or those in power, but if it's all false.....they truth does come out at some point.
History, like the law.......unfortunately..........IS subject to interpretation, ONLY because the interpretations come from personal opinions and not from the standpoint of the people who lived it.
Also, as good as MLK tried to be, he was only a flawed human being. Subject to stress, strain, coersion, lies, and frauds like the rest of us.
As much as we would all like to believe he wanted everybody to "just get along".......much of what was said, coersion or not, was fuel for the social fires.
I would have loved to talk to the man himself, as I would JFK, and several other people.......to pick their brains and see what they REALLY thought about what went on in the country during their lifetimes.
Luckily, their assassinations lite the right kind of fuse under the nation. Unfortunately, as Americans do..........people only focused on the bad, not the good. Which is sad for the rest of us, because we have to live with their fallout.
Please explain how history classes were changed by the Democrats when they do not set school curriculums or even standards of instruction.
Coercion?
Assassinations with less calories? Light!
Get spellcheck and do better!
Slavery continues to this day, and because of population growth, there are actually more slaves today then there were in the past. Just Google modern day slavery. The racist history of the Democratic party is well documented. The Democratic Party was founded in 1828. Slavery had been in this country since at least 1619. False. Almost every word you posted here is a lie. You are just so indoctrinated into the "hate public schools" mantra that you simply repeat the lies. Before the government got involved with the public school system, public schools were ran and managed by the state, not the federals.
In order to make kids stupider and more lazy, the government stepped in and started taking control of certain programs, such as classes for the handicapped kids. Once this was installed in all public schools, the government used this leverage (cutting funds they got to have such classes) to install other programs that cut out many programs such as extra curricular activities for bands, art, and drama. Pretty soon after that, they focused on Physical Education by eliminating it being a standard class to a selective class, and pretty much cutting out any and all physical maintenance on the kids, so they just got fat and lazy.
And over the decades, the government has put a stranglehold on everything.......including taking away teachers rights to enforce behavioral deterrents on their classes/students..........took power away from the principles to dish out deterrents to bullies and violent kids..........and left them limp and useless. Teachers are nothing more than overpaid babysitters now. Just as useless as the principals.
All power was given to the schoolboards, which took the power and ran with it. Now they are no better than Hitlers gestapo.
Public schools nowadays are a complete waste of tax dollars, as most of the money goes into the pockets of the schoolboard members pockets, not to the school for supplies, food, and anything else they need.
Bullshit! Mine works fine! Many other people's does too!I'm tired. Don't get me started.
And spellcheck doesn't work on chat boards.
Believe whatever lies you've been told.False. Almost every word you posted here is a lie. You are just so indoctrinated into the "hate public schools" mantra that you simply repeat the lies.
The federal government controls exactly one of those programs and they contribute funding for special education students because many states did not before the Education Department came about in 1980. Individual states and local school districts set curriculum and instruction.
Your last statement is a bald-faced lie because most school boards are elected and get compensated very little.
Congratulations on the most clueless post on education I have seen in quite a while and it's sad that you have surpassed some doozies!
