EU bar on aid to Israelis in West Bank stokes Israeli anger | Reuters

(Reuters) - The European Union said on Tuesday it will bar financial assistance to Israeli organizations operating in the occupied territories, a move Israel's prime minister denounced as meddling in bilateral relations with the Palestinians.

Guidelines adopted by the EU's Executive Commission in late June and expected to be published this week make clear that, from next year, Israeli "entities" operating in the territories will not be eligible for EU grants, prizes or loans.

The murderous Israeli government is going daft because outside countries are refusing to assist in its illegal settlements in occupied areas.
International law clearly prohibits moving your population into captured lands but Israel, as usual, gives the international community the finger but expects help to break international law.

The EU has got this right.

So what you're saying is... you're a crazy person.

That's got to be a record.

A summary of some*some of the new EU guidelines: Any Israeli entity seeking funding from or cooperation with the EU will have to*submit a declaration*stating the entity has no direct or indirect links to the*WB, E Jerusalem*or the*Golan Heights. The guidelines condition all future agreements on Jerusalem's acknowledgement that its occupied territories are not part of Israel..The full text of the guidelines obtained by Haaretz states that any Israeli entity that wants to receive funding, participate in a project or apply for grants or prizes from*EU*foundations or institutions has to submit such a declaration. The guidelines also state that “only Israeli entities having their place of establishment within Israel’s pre-1967 borders will be considered eligible” for consideration.”The place of establishment “is understood to be the legal address where the entity is registered, as confirmed by a precise postal address corresponding to a concrete physical location. The use of a post office box is not allowed.” Is EU's stand on settlements a carrot or a stick?. Does the EU go far enough? No, but its a good start.

Just got an email from Peace Now who speak favorably of the EU action and they provide a link to an article discussing the favorable responses to these guidelines by Israeli peace organizations. Peace Now, who supports a two-state solution along the pre- 1967 lines, "advised Israel to take the move seriously.“The EU’s decision broadcasts a clear message that the world does not recognize the West Bank settlements, which contradict universal democratic values. Israel’s government is fighting a losing battle against the global understanding that Israel’s occupation of the West Bank has to end,” the group said.“Israel can’t force Israeli and international officials to take part in the settlement enterprise, which goes against a worldview of moral values,” it added." Gush Shalom stated: "the EU’s position was akin to pouring a bucket of cold water over Israel’s head.“The EU has started to confront the government of Israel – and every citizen of Israel – with a road sign that cannot be ignored,” Gush Shalom said, adding that one path led to peace and international esteem, and the other to war.“The time to choose between these two paths is running out,” it said." EU guidelines on Israeli settlements send out powerful message

"The furious reaction of the Israeli government underlines an important point about the world's most intractable conflict: Jewish settlements in occupied Palestinian territory are not considered part of the state of Israel under international law." hhttp://m.guardiannews.com/world/2013/jul/16/euguidelines-israeli-settlements-message

Israel commonly breaks international law but nothing is ever done about their crimes.
America shields them so is equally guilty.

Indofred's judgment is seriously flawed. He showed 2 pictures of IDF soldiers with the same demented Palestinian girl. In one pic, the girl was clearly punching the soldier, yet Indo somehow didn't see this. In the other, a bewildered soldier was lightly restraining a clearly hysterical girl yet somehow, in his eyes, the soldier was brutalizing her. :cuckoo:

What "furious reaction"??? what "international law'??
does "international law" supercede the koran and
Shariah law?

International law clearly states, no country is allowed to transport it's own population to settle on captured land.

Israel does not agree - that makes it the only country in the world that does not.
Maybe Israel is wrong.

Too bad the Palestinians didn't accept the peace offers in 2000 and 2008 that would have given them 97% and 93% respectively of the West Bank for their own real, legit, genuine country.

This is a simple fact the pro - Palestinians continue to elude

I believe they broke down because Israel insists on right of return for Jews that have never been anywhere near Palestine but totally refuses to allow right of return for people who actually lived there before the Jewish invasion.

Perhaps you forgot to mention that so I thought I'd try to be helpful.
