In Israel, journalists who are critical of the government don't suddenly go missing. In Turkey they do. There's never been a military coup in Israel. Turkey has had several. Israeli citizens who strongly criticize the Israeli government have nothing to fear. Turkish citizens who strongly criticize the Turkish government risk jail or worse. Israel's courts are robust and aggressive in their protection of citizens' rights. Turkey's courts are horribly corrupt and usually rubber-stamp whatever the government wants to do. Etc., etc., etc.
