Jen Pawol is set to umpire her first game in MLB.

What are your thoughts on this, since I guarantee that no one has followed her career and knows anything about her credentials. Including myself.

Honestly, I follow MLB and MiLB as much as anyone.
I follow the minor leagues and KNOW the prospects.

Umpires, I really have no clue, except Angel Hernandez and CB Bucknor. They are very poor.
Other umpires should be un-noticed, and that is a good thing.

NBA and NFL have done this, and it has been successful.

I wish her well, and I hope she remains irrelevant and non-controversial.

If she worked her way through the minors like everyone else, there is no issue.

And in reality she looks pretty mannish, I think she plays for the "other team"

Do the mannish looking gay male umpires 'play for the other team?'

"Jen Pawol has been a minor-league umpire since 2016, has worked in Triple-A since 2023, and in 2024 worked some Spring Training games in Florida."

I*d say she's earned the promotion.

Dykes Calling Strikes? Yikes!

That depends on who else earned the promotion with better credentials

She should get the benefit of the doubt. It is the wokesters' fault that she does not.

They push people like Kenjati Brown-Jackson as great examples of DEI while simultaneously claiming that they are highly qualified for their jobs, and that taints all who are not white males and who achieve greatness through effort and talent.
