Just throwing this out there. I saw on X a video of a woman who made a DIY air filter. She took a 20 dollar box fan and taped one of those high quality furnace filters the back of it.....and uses it to filter her room air. You could see the dirt on the one side of the filter.

It would work as good as any approach I guess. Would be more centralized to that location though.

I use something similar to keep the dust down when painting. 4 quality furnace filters a box fan, cardboard and duct tape.

I've seen guys on jobsites make them out of 4 filters, a box fan and duct tape. They work.

Lasko makes one
Amazon has them

No reason it should not work. Fan speed might be an issue.
That's why 4 filters. Better flow.

Still not terribly speedy though.

I usually let it run for several hours before spraying.

I'm just going off of the fan speed required to pull air across one filter, say as in your home Hvac system.

Of course it's blowing harder for filtered air to get through your ductwork and out your vents.

If I look at my freestanding air purifier it only has one filter and runs at about the same speed as a box fan on medium if the unit is on high.

I'm not trying to filter the air for health reasons though. I have several HEPA filters scattered throughout the house. I'm just keeping visible dust outta my paint job.

As long there is flow it's fine for that, just gotta give it time.

And it will likely help some in the other fella's house.
