You are about as ignorant as they come. The men's team made a respectable showing. Why do you demand they win it all or disband? Many of the countries competing have only soccer as major sports. In the US, the gifted athletes go where the money is, and soccer is only just becoming viable. MLB, NFL, and NBA still pay the big bucks compared to soccer.

Your expectation are based on your own lunacy, not reality. They beat the best. I'm sure you had rather they humiliated every other team. But that is not the way sports work. Other countries have resources, athletes and coaches that train their people to win too. Just by being from the USA, should the other teams fall down and tremble in fear? You are nuts.

Yes that Is the way sports work. I’ve been on both sides f the equation, so I can say that.,I don’t expect the other teams to roll over. I expect the US team to dominate and destroy them.

I expect them to win. Your idea that they should completely destroy and then gloat over it is laughable. Every team out there wants to win. Every team and coach out there will do everything in their power to win. If you play a good game and win, you have accomplished your goal.

The Men didn’t win. They wasted a month of their (and more importantly MY) time in the Gold Cup. Thankfully the final game wasn’t available aboard the cruise ship I’m currently on, so I didn’t waste another two hours on them.

It should be a given to best Thailand 13-0. In fact that game score SHOULD have been more lopsided, as the Americans missed several glaring opportunities early on to inflate the lead beyond 3-0 at the half.

Playing England or France or the Netherlands shouldn’t be any different. The mentality for US Soccer teams should always be... One More Goal. No defensive shells. No bunkering in. One More Goal.

The well being of someone's soul will be in jeopardy if they stop a person from fulfilling their abilities.

I have no problem if a woman wants to be a stay-at-home Mom. But to force women to do so is simply wrong.

One thing you must know. Soccer is not the same here as it is in Europe. The real money and the better caliber of play for both male and female US Players is in Europe. US Soccer Leagues have the retreads from Europe and players that can not make it in Europe. Unlike the rest of the world, soccer is not our national sport. Baseball, Football, Basket Ball and Hockey generate the most fans. Soccer does not. Therefore, I don't believe US Soccer will go much further than it is. A High School Graduate had to decide whether to take a 4 year tuition free Soccer Scholarship or play in a European Country with a six figure salary. She chose to play in Europe.

But you are probably right. Women's soccer will probably not go any further than it is. Back to back World Cup Championships is about all it will do. Well, maybe back to back to back.

You think a cruise is a pleasure for a self-professed Isolationist and Nationalist? I’m stuck on a ship for 7 days with thousands of people who are almost all foreigners!!! I’ve found one other American couple. Everyone else seems to be from England, Ireland, Canada or New Zealand. Of course the staff are all Asian or Central/South American as well. Do you really think that’s fun for me?
