Unlike some, I recognize that even a radical, raging socialist President wouldn't be able to turn the country into a raging socialist nation single-handedly.

See, there's this system in place. Called checks and balances. The President works with (and sometimes against) Congress, and the Judicial System works out if it's all Constitutional.

All a truly raging socialist President would be able to do is add his socialist views and agenda to the national discussion, and attempt to persuade others in Congress to help him implement some of those policies. No doubt, compromises would happen. Witness the ACA.

Now, if the socialist President declared himself dictator, I would have no problem taking up arms to depose him.....as is proper in a democratic society.

It is neither natural nor inevitable that a socialist President would become a dictator. I don't want an armed revolution. I want more socialism in my government. Not totalitarian socialism, just a blending of socialism and capitalism, like we have now, only with more added to the socialist programs.
