I am not sure if I am a total COWARD or normal. We get few WASPS and hornets in Phoenix as their is no water for these demons.

Do most brave normal folks just kill them with a fly swatter or are you a coward like me and have to use a spray at distance. ??

When you see them do you freak out or hardly notice ??

I have always hated them and wish they would just disappear

Oddly, snakes and spiders dont bother me. ITs the fact they have access to a 3rd Dimension by flight

Killing at a distance is always preferable. No one enjoys being stung by an insect and some people are deathly allergic to them.

I have seen people walk up to them and swat them and kill them. With my coordination I know I would miss

you shouldn't be afraid of them .. wary ..yes be wary of them . and I don't kill them just because I see them in the environment .. for instance if one gets into my car I will roll down the window and try to shoo it out instead of swatting it ..

A yellowjacket got in my car just the other day and I picked it up with a kleenex and threw him outside. I'll take a wasp sting any day over a bee sting.

If I see them building a nest on or near the house, I walk up to them with a 2X4, break the nest loose onto the ground in one short, quick motion, then beat their brains out.

I used to get stung three or four times every Summer when I was a kid living in Arkansas. We'd tie a gasoline-soaked rag onto a cane pole and burn the whole nest.

It's the usual .
Unless they feel threatened you are in zero danger .

Why kill for the sake of killing ?

Reserve that for people ( a truly psychopathic species) who really warrant termination .

Insects are stupid and they often feel threatened when they shouldnt be. "Kill all wasps on sight" is my motto. Wasp lives dont matter. :dunno:

We should really figure out a way to weaponize Bald-faced Hornets. ;)

Bees don’t hurt

Neither Yellowjackets nor Wasps are normally aggressive unless you are threatening the nest. Then all bets are off.

You aren't familiar with Honeybees then. Come to think of it I haven't seen a single Bee since I moved to the Phoenix area. But Bee stings are very painful, the only consolation is that stinging you kills the Bee, but just causes you pain.

We have scorpions

I rarely see wasps here and never hornets

A wasp can sting you and fly away to sting another day. But when a bee stings you, its venom sac get ripped out and continues to inject poison into your system. I've been stung by wasps scores of times during my lifetime and never had anything other than a welt the quickly disappeared. The only time I did have a reaction was the time a small bumblebee stung me, then I got light-headed and short of breath for a minute.

I don't know, sometimes you run up on an odd one.

I was sitting quietly out on the patio one Sunday morning enjoying my coffee and this wasp lands on my upper wrist.

I just sat there figuring it would just go on about it's way and then the damn thing up and stung me! Then it took off and went about it merry way!

I'm not allergic to them or nothing but it damn well hurt there for a minute.

Yes. A sting by a wasp or hornet will burn like fire and cause one agony for at least a day. They're no joke.
Thank you for making me aware of what I have not been missing out on. Mosquitos and bed bugs are the only bugs that have ever attacked me. I have never once been stung by a bee, a wasp, or a hornet and I would like to keep it that way.

God bless you always!!!
