Is donating to Hillary's campaign a waste of money?

Hillary is suppose to be a shoe in for the democratic ticket but she seems to have a hard time knocking over Bernie sanders. She also is having a hard time getting obamas "blessing". How can such a supposedly easy to win canidate have a hard time beating an unknown canidate like Bernie? Would you feel confident your "investment" in her campaign would pay off considering the possibility she might not win the democratic ticket at all? It would seem like a waste of money if she lost especially if you have or are going to donate millions of dollars to her campaign. This question is to big money donors of all kind. Why donate money to a canidate who may not win at all?
