Honest people admit that the extreme and one-sided hatred against the Jewish state is often - I’d argue almost always - driven by antisemitism, and is a way Jew-haters think they can get away with smearing Jews. They always say, “I’m not against all Jews.,…just the ones who support Israel.” The following are examples of how condemnation against Israel reveals - or worse, advances! - antisemitism:
1. Punishing ALL Jews for Israel’s actions. For example, marching around schools chanting “Death to Jews!,” setting up No Jew Zones, or not allowing a Jewish student to serve on the student body unless she denounces Israel.
2. Using coded language as a substitute or dog whistle for Jews. Saying “Zionist” instead of Jew, when they are almost the identical thing given that almost 90% of Jews support Israel’s right to exist.
3. Using steroetypes or Hitler as part of the criticism. Saying that “Zionists” own Congress or that Israelis are like Nazis.
4. Denying the Jewish people the same rights that other ethnic groups have or aspire to. Calling for the abolishment of Israel or telling Jews they should leave the country and return to Europe, where 2/3rds of Jews were murdered.
5. Describing the Israeli people as uniquely evil by spreading lies and conspiracy theories. Saying that Israelis enjoy killing children or that they are deliberately killing innocent civilians.
6. I will add one more of my own: Double standards where it applies to Israel. Engaging in nationwide protests to “free the Palestinians” and having virtually none to free the Iranians, being killed by the tens of thousands by Islamic savages.
