It's been a long time.

And wow.......

The numbers he discusses when talking our ridiculous taxes......compared to the present.

He does what I respect. He looks inside his own party and holds them accountable.

Great book for perspective.

Who has read the book "Conscience of a Liberal" by Paul Krugman ?
 
This was from Goldwater's chapter on taxes:

The (federal) government must begin to withdraw from a whole series of programs that are outside it's constitutional mandate, social welfare programs, education, public power, public housing, urban renewal and all other programs that can be done BETTER by local governments or private entities.

Reading this, of course, is somewhat depressing. While at the same time, it begs the question...what do the numbers say.
