In 1956, Congress passed an act making 'In God We Trust' our official motto.
Shouldn't have Congress struck this act down before swearing in members on the Quran?

I'm all for them striking that down, but it makes no difference in whether a Koran, or Bible, or the Divine Wisdom of The Flying Spaghetti Monster is used to swear in a member of congress. Each would be just as appropriate as the others.

Part of what makes the United States great is that you have freedom of religion. One of the best freedoms the founders included. Using your religion to influence government is antithetical to the vision of the founders of the United States.

Congress passed the law in 1956, and back then, like the founders and founding, it was a gimme that God is a Judeo-Christian God.
If that definition is to get expanded on, then why don't modern day Democrats introduce legislation to expand it, and/or eliminate it as our Countrys motto?
Instead, they try to re-define it illegally by proxy substitutes.

Beto, if elected Prez, would for sure go with the Flying Spaghetti Monster.......

This thread title is the official motto of the United States of America.
Rep.'s Tlaib and Omar were sworn into Congress using the Quran.
Does this mean that they were not duly sworn in as Congressional members?

Our official motto DOES NOT state that 'In Allah We Trust'.

Can someone please clear up this confusion?
It 'aint your God either. How about you christian fucks shove your religion up your ass and leave it out of government.

Thanks ;)

But our Gov't made it our official motto that stands to this day.

For the dumb: What is a motto?
a short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution. Individual can use any God they choose.

You should leave America and go where they worship those gods.
People worship many gods in America. I put a young man in the Marine Corps that worshiped Ares.

The Founding Fathers worshipped 1 God, you leftist shill POC. IGDGAF what some drug-addled people's offspring that joined the corps worship. That's not what built America, boy. I find it hard to believe you were involved with the Marines.

Is this clear enough for you?

Article VI Clause 3

3: The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Your homework is to study the US Constitution.

Still a moron. Fuck your god.
The last three words of your quote ensures your place in purgatory. Enjoy your stay!

Did your god assign you to make those decisions, or do you think he can deal with all that himself?

For fucks sakes it isn't that easy to understand what the founders intended. You are welcome to practice any religion you want leave it out of government.

Yep, no religious test, but you cannot swear an oath to The Constitution and have a greater commitment to an ideology opposed to Our Constitution.

Islam’s anti constitutional doctrine takes precedence over their oaths to The Constitution.

We should rule out dual citizenship then. Just to make certain.

The motto is not a test. But it IS an affirmation to support the U.S. Constitution!

Maybe, but it’s not Nationality that is an issue, it’s ideology.

Islam is Incompatible with Equality, Freedom of Religion, Separation of Church and State, Freedom Of Speech
