The Economist magazine’s Intelligence Unit’s global democracy survey rates the state of democracy across 167 countries on the basis of five measures—electoral process and pluralism, the functioning of government, political participation, democratic political culture and civil liberties. Israel is ahead of the US as a democracy, however “Palestine“ is authoritarian…

The USA is 25th in the world, and is rated a "flawed democracy". Disgraceful.

Canada is 5th, and rated a "full Democracy". You need to do better - a LOT better.

The US has FPTP, it only has two political parties. That's very, very flawed "democracy". The only reason it even gets "democracy" in there is because people vote and could, potentially change things, but the US system isn't decided by what the people actually want.

Both Dubya and Trump were elected with less votes than their opponents. Not democracy.

While Canada also has a flawed system, it's less flawed than the US system because more political parties get elected and people have more choice.

The main parties only got like 39% or less, but still managed to get way more seats than the people wanted, so how Canada gets up in 5th is beyond me. Proportional Representation countries should be at the top, because that's the most democracy that can be had by such ways of electing people.

What a stupid post!!! This is why your country is in the toilet with the water swirling. The country is populated by idiots.

Why's it stupid? Does Palestine have free and fair elections?
No presidential election since 2005 but Abbas is still president of it.

Er....

Faiz Abu Shamala: “I wish for Palestinians a fraction of what Israel has. They replace the prime minister and enjoy democracy. Allah gave us a president who butchered democracy, buried our dreams, and swore not to leave until he dies."
