I'm still rocking my own custom build that is 11 years old

upper end gigabyte board, I7 2x8 1866

I don't play any modern games and it's still damn fast for streaming tv shows or just being on the net

course the GPU has been upgraded to a 3060 and the drives to SSD but I don't really need a new build

My other computer is a newer build, 6 years old but I find my main rig just fits me better

So what's your download speed with that configuration?

fiber 300/20, I bypass the Intel NIC for a USB 3.0 antenna, wireless to my router

I previously for ages was using a linksys bridge, intel pro set to team and I could get 60/20

plenty fast enough actually to handle streaming or if I had a large download

i7 vs i5 makes a huge difference, 8 threads vs 4, CPU does not need to work so hard
