If you click that link, and click under ā€œList of Governorsā€ you’ll see that Richard Ogilvie was thee 35th governor of Illinois from 1969 - 1973.

You’ll also see that Richard Ogilvie was Republican. However, his lieutenant governor Paul Simon was representing thee Democratic party..

Anyone know what’s up with that?

Some states elect those offices separately.

Yea, I found out that’s what happened.

Thee governor and lieutenant governor for Illinois used to run independently, by themselves. Not on a joint team like they do nowadays..

Thanks for the response though.
