the government can NOT threaten military members with being removed from service for attending political rallies or functions out of uniform.Okay...what did the cops say when you called them?
Oh wait...
You didn't call the police?
Why didn't you call them...if it's illegal?
Snide personal attack in 5...4...3...
Did you call the police?the government can NOT threaten military members with being removed from service for attending political rallies or functions out of uniform.
They can if your participation or conduct reflects poorly upon the institution. Let's set aside the fact that when you raise your right hand and join the military, you essentially give up your individual rights and agree to be told what to do (follow orders). Everyone has the right to free speech. Everyone does NOT have the right to be free from the consequences of that speech or conduct.the government can NOT threaten military members with being removed from service for attending political rallies or functions out of uniform.

this is blatantly illegal interference with a presidential election by the Airforce. While service members cannot participate in uniform they can out of uniform. More illegal actions by the democrats.

At issue was a planned Nov. 17 event dubbed the "Dakota Patriot Rally" at the state fairgrounds in Minot, and the text warned personnel "to be cautious" if they were in the area, especially because some rally-goers "could be confrontational to military members."
Under Raygun we were told to be careful and to wear condoms when meeting ladies of the night. They did not tell them they could not attend, they told them to be careful. Pretty standard fare for any of the branches.
We had the Westboro Baptist church come and protest outside of Camp Lejeune when I was stationed at MCAS New River, there was a counter protest. We were warned that if we went to the counter protest to be careful.

wrong question where in the UCMJ can a commander discipline a service member for attending a political function while off duty and not in uniform?Where in the UCMJ is that specified?

from the linked story, The text message to members at Minot Air Force Base warned "that participation with groups such as Turning Point Action could jeopardize their continued service in the U.S. military."and they did not threaten to do so.

and since it is a mainstream political party, it is not a threat to anything again this is not allowed the government cannot ban membership in a mainstream political party or its groups.Going to a rally is not participation with the group. Joining it would be participation with the group
