They do not dare criticize the Taliban, lest they lose street cred.

And likely will appear to be for a short time, perhaps long enough to convince Quid Pro to send a lot of foreign aid, then the hammer will fall once again. Radical Islam does not support women being free, and the Taliban is all about radical Islam. I just really hope there are at least a few congresscritters with the balls to hold this group's feet to the fire on this.

Correct. If nothing big breaks out there the US media will get bored and focus on something else in a year or so. Then perhaps the Taliban will start re-implementing those restrictions on women once again. We just don't know and we can't trust anybody in the middle-east.
