The affidavit is simply recycling the same debunked claims from the first time they raised this issue. It has already been investigated by Georgia's Secretary of State office, under
REBPUBLICAN Brad Raffensperger. So your own Republicans are in on the conspiracy with the Democrats now to have stolen the election? Raffensperger is a life long republican, voted for Trump and contributed to his campaign. None of this is based on logic, it's based on the Trump administration treating their supporter base like they are complete fools that will tow the line.
Here is a video with some of the phone call between Trump and Raffensperger, and also has interviews with Raffensperger and Gabriel Sterling (
both Republican Trump voters), and goes over some of the debunked claims.
So all the things that this affidavit mentions have already been investigated and debunked. All nine legal challenges by Trump and allies in Georgia were dropped, denied, or dismissed by courts.
Georgia's 2020 votes were countered three separate times, all confirming the same result. Republican officials who resisted Trump have consistently stated there was no fraud.
Gabriel Sterling (Operating Officer for Secretary of State) (
Also a Republican and Trump voter) in response to the question asking him how he would describe the President's claims of vote fraud in Georgia: "Fantastical, unreasonable, lacking in any factual reality."
Sterling on the topic of a video that Trump's team released that was supposed to show something suspicious. Sterling said that President Trump's team had always had the entire unedited video (which shows there is nothing suspicious going on), but they only released a selectively edited version of the video: "From my point of view, they intentionally misled the state senators, the people of Georgia, and the people of the United States about this to cause this conspiracy theory to keep going and keep the disinformation going which has caused this environment that we are seeing today."
Trump in the phone call to Raffensperger: "It's more illegal for you than it is for them. Because you know what they did and you're not reporting it. That's a criminal, that's a criminal offense. And you know you can't let that happen. That's a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer, and that's a big risk." Trump is such a piece of shit.
You know what I think about this whole affidavit? I think they are just going to try and get something tweet-worthy out of it. There is no intention to actually expose fraud because they know it doesn't exist, but they can use this to make some cherrypicked claim that they can then use to once again strengthen the conviction of their supporter base to undemocratic values. That's the goal here.
And in their other more general claims of mass voter fraud, when they've actually gone to Court, their legal filings have been very different to what they have been saying via the media:
- Many lawsuits didn't actually allege fraud at all, but rather focused on procedural issues (signature matching rules, observer access, etc.)
- When judges directly asked lawyers if they were alleging fraud, they often said "no" or backed away from such claims
- Evidence presented was frequently much thinner than suggested publicly
Notable examples:
- In Pennsylvania, Trump campaign lawyer admitted in court they weren't alleging fraud
- Rudy Giuliani's law license was suspended partly for making "demonstrably false" statements about the election
- Fox News paid $787.5 million to settle Dominion's defamation lawsuit, with internal messages showing hosts didn't believe fraud claims they aired
- Multiple Trump attorneys faced sanctions or disciplinary proceedings for election-related filings
Why do you think they were much less confident of their claims when in court? It's because they don't want to commit things like Perjury. They can lie to you guys without consequences, but it's different in courts.
I haven't even gone into all of the batshit insane things from the Jan 6th Committee Report that are loaded with testimonies from Trump's own allies and from Republicans in general. If you're not aware of what they were attempting:
What Trump and Co conspired was to send an alternative set of electors in the key swing states. These alternative electors were to then submit illegitimate and fraudulent electoral college votes for Trump. These individuals convened on December 14, 2020, the same day as the legitimate electors, and signed documents falsely declaring themselves the rightful electors for their states and casting electoral votes for Trump.. This was one part of a nefarious and intentional plot to try and steal an election. It was an attack on democracy, and is unprecedented.
The idea was to create confusion and uncertainty about the legitimacy of the Electoral college results and then Pence could either reject the official electoral slates for Joe Biden or recognize the alternate slates submitted by Trump’s allies. Ultimately, Pence rejected this strategy, stating that he did not have the constitutional authority to change the outcome of the election or choose which electors to accept.
This is what Trump was talking about when he said that 'Pence could do the right thing":
Trump: "I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. Because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election."
Ridiculous shit. And thousands times more evidence exists for this than any mass voter fraud.
