I would actually respect the agencies if they reacted to a visit from the DOGE Squad like this.

Working in government isn't like what it used to be when I was in that game. You get an auditor or inspector, you never let 'em see you sweat. You sure don't cry about it to the media.

Lead by saying that you're confident all is in order, and if they find something, blame your predecessor and say you were cleaning that up, or if you've been in charge too long, say WTTE of "I'm more shocked than you are!"

They thought they were untouchable under the way the .gov was being run by an ineffective congress....I mean who really pays attention to a congressional investigation or their "findings".

Then Musk showed-up and totally changed the game.....They were not expecting that, no, not at all.

Sorta like a bunch of hungry Pitbulls being turned loose on a kindergarten class.

That would be good. Great even.

BUT, everything we have seen so far, it seems that that type of response is not an option. THe abuse is so great that it is beyond hiding or...anything.
