She is a nurse in the local hospital and is a very nice lady. She told ne that her biggest culture shock in the uk.
She went to the supermarket to buy foof disinfectant to wash her veg. It seems that in Mexico they use any water to feed plants so everything needs washing before eating.
She was shocked that we didnt sell such things.

They have a drought and then lose about half their water to leaky infrastructure. Back when I was a tyke, a local textile mill moved there hoping to exploit cheap labor and free trade only to go belly up because they couldn't get near as much water as they needed for their manufacturing processes.

It's because Mexicans don't treat their sewage before they dump it in the river. I lived in San Diego for several years, and Tijuana sewage often made it's way up to Coronado Beach. They often had to put the beaches off-limits to swimming thanks to Mexico.

That is only in specific isolated areas in Mexico. I lived in 2 places in Mexico for 5 years, and there was nothing like that there.

The vast majority of Mexico consists of isolated areas.

I visited Mexico many times in my younger days. Sunni Man is right, there are several large cities, dozens of smaller cities and the rest of the population live in small towns and villages. It is an enormous, beautiful country. Too bad it's been ruined by the corruption and the Cartels.

lol. It's so strange to me to hear that someone had never met a Mexican.

Don't eat the food either because it will give you the shits.

I lived in Mexico for a number of years and I never got sick from the food... Heck, even taco stands back in the day.

But I definitely agree that you can't drink the water, of course.

Hispanics are a hard working people and had a strong family culture however like with all cultures in our country they are slowly deteriorating.

Uk is not an obvious place to come to. Spain maybe.

I hope she was half joking.
No. My wife came to pick me up and the two of them had a nother in law notes compare. If I am honest I felt a bit surrounded.
Her mother is flying over in a few weeks and is intending to cook every day for her little boy. I would love that but apparently she is infringing.
