P.S. I don't hate Christmas, but I do agree with you about people forgetting why the occasion is a holiday in the first place. It's not about an overweight guy dressed in red who gets his transportation from a sleigh that is pulled by nine reindeer if you include the one that is said to be named Rudolph. To me, the day is when our savior was born.

You seem to be where I was a few years ago. Christmas had become a time when you were expected to buy gifts you couldn't afford for people you didn't care that much about and they usually ended up being something they didn't really want anyway. Now I only give gifts to those I really care about and I have to have a reason to believe it's something they actually want or need. Recipients seem to be truly appreciative of the thought and effort for each gift instead of the price. The rest will have to make do with a warm smile, or perhaps a card if I have the time. If Christmas is stressful, you're doing it wrong.
