I do not like Clarence Thomas and usually disagree with him, as well as PoliticalChic, but they are right on this one.
Censorship not only is inherently illegal but extremely dangerous.
It can be used to prevent truth and force hysterical propaganda.
A democratic republic can not survive if arbitrary censorship is allowed.

The only legal times censorship can be allowed is if it is in clear violation of rights, such as libel, slander, yelling "fire" in a crowded theater when there is no fire, etc.
Even inciting violence with hate speech has to be tolerated to a degree.
Otherwise you don't have a democratic republic any more.

Only the government is prevented from censoring anything. Free speech rights do not apply to private entities.

6. There was no need for a travel ban. Most citizens of other countries have to be vetted before they come to this country. digital platforms do not sell themselves as distributing speech. They sell themselves as social media companies. They have the right to decide what speech goes on their platform. They pay for THEIR infrastructure.

Repeal of Section 230 would not force them to accept other opinions. They would have to crack down even harder. They allow individuals to communicate with others. They do not allow for these platforms to be used to spread false information.
