This is so stupid. Mono-lingualism is a wonderful thing for a country to have and we are throwing it away! Only english should be used in public schools unless it's a class actually teaching a foreign language. Here is the complete grok response.

Over 150 languages are used in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) system. This reflects the linguistic diversity among students, particularly the more than 70,000 English Learners (ELs), who represent about 25% of the total enrollment. CPS identifies these languages through the Home Language Survey, which asks about languages spoken at home, and supports them via bilingual education, ESL programs, and dual-language instruction. While English is the primary language of instruction, native-language support is available for major home languages like Spanish (the most common), and services extend to over 150 others, including Arabic, Polish, Mandarin, Urdu, and many more, to ensure equitable access.

I asked copilot the same question and they refused to answer. Instead they said 180 foreign languages are spoken at home by students.

And they're failing to teach the students in any of them.

First, you shouldn't go to MechaHitler for answers.

Secondly, no point in using English if the students don't understand it.

We are doomed.
A nation absolutely CANNOT survive that kind of crap. We have to share a common culture. And that ain't it.

Third, not all those languages are used, but services may be provided for many others who need them.

Fool.
What AI source would you use: AI Commie China?

And I have no problem with ESL programs with the intent to teach them English.

But the reality is, if you want to reach them on other subjects, you have to speak their language.

If they want to learn English, they need to use English. A lot, every day.

Reality is a bugaboo for a lot of them.
They often seem to prefer lies.

Switzerland has four languages- French, German, Italian, and Romansh. They are fine.
That's FOUR languages - all somewhat related - in a tiny country.
150 doesn't equal 4.
Do the math.

I agree with above. From time to time, local elected officials propose a vote to make English the official language in their jurisdiction - County, etc. They do this to avoid or stop having to print documents - driver's license booklets, public notices - in multiple languages, which is costly. In other words, the goals is to save money. The proposals are always voted down.
It should be a requirement - I think it may have been at one time - that if you come to this country to become a citizen, you must learn English.

And to increase assimilation. And reduce poverty.
