Hi! This profile is a public outreach effort by our collective. If you received a friend request from us please rest assured that we do not think you might currently be Gay, although we are trying to make contact with a broad a range of people. We are a group of psychologists and therapists who regularly encounter great distress suffered by people experiencing “sexual orientation identity confusion” and homophobia. We take the considered view that sexual orientation identity is a choice and that everybody is in fact capable of enjoying a fulfilling relationship with a member of the opposite sex. We are in full agreement with the BPS (British Psychological Association) and the APA (American Psychological Association) in all matters. We do however feel that the political sensitivity of sexual orientation identity, negatively influenced by religious fundamentalism, has lead to a therapeutically ineffective environment. This profile is an effort to circumnavigate this problem for the benefit of the wider community. Please read the blogs in numerical order as some language may be unfamiliar and is explained in the earlier blogs. We urge anybody who finds this specific therapeutic ethos to be agreeable to advertise this profile in whatever way possible. This website is under regular review so please feel free to make suggestions and leave comments at your leisure! It’s not all serious business so please leave silly comments, pictures, videos and ads for good films and interesting sciencey stuff too if possible. Thanks.
