It's a tough negotiation at this point. The damage is done. The trick would have been to not let it start in the first place. The NATO thing was stupid. Now, I can't really see how we can back Ukraine and insist they get all their land back. We have to be careful how we deal with Russia, the world's biggest nuclear power. We wouldn't want to turn them into another Iran, that militarily supplies other radical terrorist countries to do their bidding. Right now, we have to settle for peace and save what we can for Ukraine. I always thought that if they really wanted to think outside the box, they should have invited Ukraine and Russia to both join NATO. That would have put our real enemy, China, behind the 8 ball.

What you news starved Americans do not seem to know was that Kyiv shelled Dombass every day from 2014 and therefore continuously broke the Minsk Agreements .
Donbass then faced up to 200 000 UAF assembled with NATO funds who were planning a full scale invasion on March1 , 2022 .

There was zero Land Grab . In fact for 8 years Pootles had been more charitable than any reasonable person had a right to expect and they lost 15000 people from Donbass who were committed to live as Russian people , all being Russian speakers.
They loathed the corruption of the Kyiv government which was sponsored and paid for by the US .
