Definitely worth a listen.

"To find the path to long life and health, Dan Buettner and team study the world's "Blue Zones," communities whose elders live with vim and vigor to record-setting age. At TEDxTC, he shares the 9 common diet and lifestyle habits that keep them spry past age 100."

Take really good care of yourself when you're 99.

Avoid high risk sports like getting into the bathtub unassisted.

Have your food chewed really well for you.

Avoid all spicy foods like oatmeal.

Take care to give your respiatory system a really good workout by remembering to breathe 6-12 times a minute.

Finally, and this is really important:

If your kids are still living with you?
Encourage them to take responsibility for cashing their own social security checks.
It's never too early to help your kids accept adult responsiblity.

Live in a tradition-bound, spiritually-based, family-first and largely racially homogenous group.

What is this guy, a neo-Nazi?

William, the Seventh Day Adventists were all racial groups.

Spiritually based does not neccessarily mean organized religion.

Tradition as in understanding where you have come from, and appreciating the older people in your family, and then the younger ones when you are old.

Having freinds of long standing is a real plus in being able to relax. Someone that knew you when you were a foolish teenager is someone you can relax around. No need to put on a front, they already know who you are, for better or worse.

All you have to do is buy lots of things that promise to keep you healthier.
