How to create another line on android tablet

It is driving me insane that I cannot create another line when I type paragraphs. Anyone know how to perform this simple, basic function in an android tablet?

Err, Im not sure if you were being facetious or not but I tried that obviously, it doesnt work. There is a way though as by accident I was able to do so before, I am perplexed.

I thought it would work. It works when texting on my android phone.

yeah it wont work for me. It is so weird. There is a way but it isn't enter, there is an option up top somewhere.
