Most of the old Mailcats in my AO all sound like they are on their last legs.....My carrier bought hers when they surplused off a couple and had it PMed properly so she does not have to wait for one to become available.

They are so short on Mailcats that they issue them out on a seniority basis. If you have a new carrier then it might be dark by the time you get your mail because they have to wait till the more senior carrier gets done their route before they can get a truck.

They are so short on Mailcats that they issue them out on a seniority basis. If you have a new carrier then it might be dark by the time you get your mail because they have to wait till the more senior carrier gets done their route before they can get a truck.

No, in town.....Plenty and running are two different things.

They are woefully neglected. My carrier would do oil changes at her own expense before she got her own LLV.

the carriers dont have to deliver in the dark if they deem it dangerous which it is,and i have seen carrier complaints to the union from around the country,and not having a vehicle daily to do a route has never come up.....i think your carrier is exaggerating the vehicle situation at her office and they would not allow a carrier to sit around waiting for a vehicle to use...sorry relic i think she is exaggerating...they will get that route out before dark.....and that is not saying you may not get your mail when it gets dark,just that that route wont sit there all day waiting for someone to get done...

On Saturday we don't get our mail till around 5 to 6PM because my regular carrier is off on Saturday and a less senior carrier has to wait for a truck.

BTW....In the winter 5-6 PM is dark Skippy..

i delivered mail for 33 years how long did you deliver it skippy?...and like i said getting mail at 5 or 6 isnt a rare thing....not doing your route until someone gets done with their route doesnt happen.....and the carrier who does your regulars route when he is off uses the truck assigned to his route.....and your regular carrier isnt off on Saturday unless he calls in sick or puts in for a day of annual leave otherwise he is off every 5 th Saturday...you are getting some bullshit stories thrown at you...

are you sure your address aint considered rural?....only a rural carrier would able to get every sat off because they basically own the route and as long as they get someone to carry that route they call the shots,.....if you talk to her ask her if her route is considered rural or city,she will know.....there is a big difference in the rules...
