I've been shopping for a farm tractor. I don't have a farm but I do have a good size piece of land that requires maintenance and in the winter it's a pretty hefty snow removal job. Having grown tired being behind the snow blower for hours at a time I'm working for alternatives and it occurred to me that a farm tractor with the proper attachments would be just the ticket. One problem though.... These things are not cheap. Having looked at the available options here including John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, Chase.... Caterpillar and a few others you can't get anything worth a damn for less than about 70k.

Now check this out from Alibaba. Am I reading this wrong? Is it just a bullshit lie? How is a price like this even possible?

I can answer that for you. That motherfucker is going to break down quick, and getting parts for it is going to be a nightmare.

Yeah I was kind of thinking along those lines.

Yeah, how are people supposed to cope with a huge piece of land where they need a tractor.

All the while in China, the people living in polluted cities, where they can't own any land, can't complain, strike, do anything interesting and are working for cheap so you can buy cheap shit, are going to end up unemployed with tons of debt because the CCP has been pushing up apartment prices for decades.

If you can't afford the machinery to maintain your property, that is YOUR problem.

So it's not exactly a bowl of cherries over the tree eh?

The obvious answer is for all land to be owned by the state's corporate partners for efficiency. They can then remove the proprietary regs for repairs, eliminate crushing taxes on the land, the fuel can be properly subsidized, and you will still be able to do odd jobs on the farm, as AI will do most of the heavy lifting. Better for you if you migrate to one of those new smart cities citizen.

As an American you should have a choice. Trump is trying to take away your choices.

Have you ever read Brandon Sanderson books? The one I just finished he had a guy who kept coming up with idioms that were just random and complaining he didn't understand everyone else's idioms. That's how I feel now.

Well, you get the feeling that both China, supposedly Communist, and the US, are turning into countries with a few super companies. Freedoms will be decided by those with the money and that's that.

That is at the heart of the matter: our problems (the general population) are not the same as the government's agenda/problems. In fact they are totally at odds. I am not sure why it's so hard to grasp this, but it is.
Spoken with truth. If you can't afford it, not my problem.

4 reviews, 2 liked it and 2 didn't. Caveat: I don't know shit about tractors, but this one doesn't cost $70k.

Also: how often is snow removal a problem? Can you pay somebody to do it for you? Or: move to Florida, you idiot. :p

What do you want to do with land that requires a tractor? Have you considered a larger snow thrower. I once had a 36" Ariens, 10 hp walk behind. It was a monster that cleared a lot of snow really fast.
