How and Why have recent immigrants or first generation citizens become radicalized Islamists?

In the USA, I've known or met or observed Italian Americans, Irish Americans, Jewish Americans (Israeli citizens), German Americans and more, who have family histories of being anarchists, and opponents of official government policies towards their ancestral homelands.

Now in the USA, but more prominently in Europe, we see this again -- but it is a brace new world with terrorism replacing anarchy and ...
