Throughout world history the leadership of nations has kept their people under their control by oppression and violence. Realizing that this won't work with Americans, given our history of rebelling against such tyranny, our leaders have chosen to keep us stupid, which serves the same ends.

It's all about the eyeballs which are directly proportional to ad dollars.

All our media is owned by billionaires who have divided and conquered us.

As I have said many times, the propagandists have deliberately dumbed down their rubes over a period of decades to the point they have the intellectual bandwidth of a bumper sticker.

Every complicated issues is boiled down to simplistic lies which are easily digestible and able to be mindlessly parroted without engaging a single brain cell in critical thinking.
