Hot Take: "Die Another Day" Wasn't That Bad

People act like this was the worst James Bond movie ever. I get it, it was cheesy and over the top. But 90% of the movie's issues boil down to it being a product of when it was released. The quick cuts? Typical of that period. Madonna? She was big then. People bitch about the ice palace? You know, it was cool. And remember that Moonraker had a space base, and The Spy Who Loved Me had an underwater base. The car was also cool. People also bitch about the magic race-swapping gene therapy, forgetting that a similar event occurred in You Only Live Twice. Finally, the main villain's battle suit was sort of cool. The only inexcusably bad thing was the weird iceberg surfing scene.
