Strange how unpreventable shoplifting is changing the the shopping experience in some crime ridden cities.

It is not like that here. We have normal shopping, at normal name brand stores and pharmacies. Probably coming our way, though.

It may change the stealing patterns, to go with the shopping patterns and store marketing patterns. Instead of stealing it off the shelf and walking or running out the door, they will revert to stickups on the way to the parking lot. Kind of like welcome to the zombie apocalypse where simply shopping will become a test of your survival instincts, skills and abilities.

Had to study their business/marketing plan in business school. You and I can shop there, but we are not who they try to attract. A successful company, generally. There plan works, but can it work in the areas where the merch is under lock and key?

You are somewhere close, following me in age. Do you think another Service Merchandise would have a chance? I really liked their merchandise selection and quality. But, I do not think anyone back then, could get used to paying at checkout and waiting for their stuff to come out of the wall on a conveyor belt. Are we moving toward that marketing plan again? I shopped there, buying significant ticket items, but with the conveyor thing, much of their product in the back, but only displayed on the shelf, they got the nickname "NoService Merchandise and their sales model failed.
