You can clearly determine the mentality of peoples by their religions. Religions are divided into 2 large branches according to the criterion of the relationship between God and man.
The first branch is the sublime religions of free and heroic peoples, such as the Indo-Aryans and Americans. Shamanism, Vedism and their Babylonian variants contain only praise to the gods, heavenly bodies, affirm the correct order and distinguish between good and evil. These are the religions of high free peoples.
The second branch - other peoples descended from forest savages had chthonic cults, as well as later religions that reflected the slave-owning imperialist structure, where people were slaves and servants, this was transferred to their master god, these are religions such as Abrahamism, late Zoroastrianism and others religions of empires.
The mentality of peoples was reflected in their relationships with the gods.
